4ºESO: INLINE SKATING

BASIC TECHNIQUE

1.- GLIDING: You have 20 meters and 6 movements to build up speed, glide as far as you can.            2,5 points
2.- TURNING AND GLIDING: Do a slalom between the cones building up speed. 2,5 points.
3.-  TURNING IN PARALLEL: build up speed and do a slalom between the cones with roller skates in parallel. 2,5 points
4.- BRAKING: build up speed and stop in less than 3 meters using the wheels as a brakes, doing the “V”, with the brake or doing a 180 º turn. 2,5 points.

FIGURES (choose 5 exercises from the following)

1.- The egg: Build up speed and skate 10 meters with your hands on your knees. 1 point
2.- The little egg: build up speed and skate 10 meters with your hands on the toe of your feet. 1,5 points
3.- Skating on 5 wheels: choose five wheels to skate. 2 points
4.- Skating on 2 wheels: skate with the front wheel of one roller skate and the back wheel of the other roller skate. 4 points
5.- Skating backwards:  Build up speed and skate backwards. 3 points
6.- The circle: skate doing a big circle building up speed and turn putting one roller skate over the other one. 3 points
7.- The circle backwards: exercise number 6 but skating backwards. 4 points
8.- Skating on one foot: try to skate on one foot 3 seconds. 3 points
9.-“two snakes”: build up speed and after that separate and put together  your legs 4 times. 2 points

10.- Jumping: try to jump one line. (1,5 points)

  2. 1.- ¿Do you Know different types of braking? Explain them.
    -T-Stop: you use your feet to make a T shape, so you would bring your dominate foot behind your non-dominate foot, in the shape of a T and you would drag it on the floor, and this will brake.
    -Using the brake: drag the brake that is behind your roller skate slightly.
    V-stop: you're going to bring your feet together and come to a stop by making a "V" with your feet.
    -Doing a semi-circle round: go straight ahead and put your feet on an horizontal line and do a semi-circle round.
    2.- ¿Could you explain 3 unusual skating activities to me ?
    -Nordic inline skating is also called Nordic blading or cross-skating (different from skate cross), and it is the cross-country skiing of roller sports. You are new to roller sports, an experienced skater looking for an activity or a freestyle skier looking for off-season training,Nordic skating is a good workout for almost all of the major muscle groups.

    -Speed enthusiasts, thrill seekers and athletes who need cross training activities for skiing and many other gravity sports will like downhill inline skating, since this skating discipline is a unique variation of the inline roller sports that is similar to the Alpine downhill ski racing.

    -Inline basketball - sometimes called roller basketball - is almost the same as regular basketball with the exception that it is played on inline skates. Inline basketball is a good recreational sport for adults or kids of any age or gender who have good basic skating skills and who are interested in a team activity that includes a combination of speed, jumping, maneuverability and fast thinking.
    3.- ¿Could you tell me the difference between T-stance and V-stance?
    -In T-stance, we put the skates perpendiculars and in V-stance, we put our skates together until touch the heels while pointing the toes out.

    4.- What´s the biggest danger in a first time skater?
    -Lock the knees and be afraid.

  3. 1.- ¿Do you Know different types of braking? Explain them.
    -We can brake using the brake that is in the back of our roller skates, we have to push it with the floor.
    -We can brake using the T-Stop, we have to put one roller skate and form a T with the other one.
    -And we can brake doing a circle with our roller skates we have to form a straight line with them and then we will make a circle so we will stop.

    2.- ¿Could you explain 3 unusual skating activities to me ?
    - Downhill Inline Skating: It consists of cover a downhill distance on paved roads of mountains using inline skates.

    - Roller Soccer: We use inline skates as the footwear of choice. The addition of skates makes roller soccer faster and more exciting than regular soccer.

    -Kite Skating: Kite skating is an extreme inline skating activity that lets a skater travel at speeds of up to 60 mph using wind power and a strong kite. We use a special pair of special skates using rollerblade boots and scooter wheels.


    3.- ¿Could you tell me the difference between T-stance and V-stance?
    -In T stance your roller skates are perpendicular.
    -And in V stance they form a V by touching the heels of each roller skate.

    4.- What´s the biggest danger in a first time skater?
    -The biggest danger in a first time skater is to lock his/her knees.

    -We brake using the brake that is in the back of the right rolling skates, we have to press against the floor.

    -We can brake in T form, we have to do a T with the rolling skates and the back one press against the floor.

    -We can brake doing a circle with the rolling skates, we have to form a V with the rolling skates and then we have to make a circle to stop at the moment.

    2. Could you explain 3 unusual skating activities to me ?

    - Downhill Inline Skating: Involves covering a range descent on paved roads and mountains using inline skates.

    - Roller Soccer: We use inline skates like shoes of pick. The addiction of rolling skates football makes it faster and more exciting regularly football.

    -Kite Skating: is an inline skating extreme activity that you can traveling, at velocity as 60 mph using wind power and a strong comet. We can use an special skating using skating boots and scooters wheels.


    3. Could you tell me the difference between T-stance and V-stance?

    -In T form doing a right angle with the rolling skates.
    -In V form you doing a V when you touch your heels of each rolling skating.

    4. What´s the biggest danger in a first time skater?

    -The biggest danger in the first time skater is block our knees and get scared.

    -Doing a circle: when you are going to break you form a semi circle
    -T form: put a skate behind the other in the form of T.
    -V form: you form a V with the two skates.
    -With the brake: you lift up the frontal part of the foot and break with the back break.

    - Downhill Inline Skating:It consists of a distance of descent on paved roads Mountain using inline skates.
    - Roller Soccer:We use in-line skates. Addiction to wavy stripes soccer football regularly makes faster and more exciting.
    -Kite Skating:is an extreme inline skating activity that can travel at speeds up to 60 mph with a strong wind and kite. We can use special skates using wheeled scooters.

    T-stance: you must put the skates at 90 degrees, that is, make a right angle.
    -V-stance: you form a V with your skates by touching the wheels of each rolling skating.

    -The biggest danger in the first time skater is to obstruct the knees.

    -Breaking from 180ºC : advance and put the skates skating so that you stick to 189 degrees and tours
    -Breaking T: put a miss in front of the other, the flex form front and with the other dragging the skate so that you stay on T.
    -Breaking with brake: run with skates, bend the front leg and lean on the brake skate.

    2.- ¿Could you explain 3 unusual skating activities to me ?
    -Kite Skating is an extreme sport using powerful, controllable kites to propel riders of in-line skates, off-road skates or mountain boards at speeds up to 60 mph across parking lots, desert dry lakes, grassy fields, and sandy beaches.
    - Roller soccer or roller football is a version of association football played on roller skates.
    -Downhill is probably the most extreme roller-skating practice. At speeds frequently above 70 kph, even a minor fall can cause very serious injuries. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced downhill skater, your protective equipment should be commensurate with the risks.
    3.- ¿Could you tell me the difference between T-stance and V-stance?
    • T-stance, you put the skates perpendicular
    • V-stance you put your skates like a V. Put the heels together and pointing with the toes out.
    4.- What´s the biggest danger in a first time skater?
    The biggest danger in a first time skater is to block knees.

  7. 1. Do you know different types of braking? Explain them.

    -Doing circle of 180° and you braking.

    -You put one foot vertical and other horizontal forming a T.

    -You joint the tips of de feet and separe the heels forming a V.

    2. Could you explain 3 unusual skating activities to me ?

    Roller soccer. We use unline skates. With de skates the soccer it's more excintig and faster.

    Dowhill inline skates. It's consists in a covering range descendent on paved roads and mountains using inline skates.

    Kite skating. It's consist in an inline skating extreme, you can travel with a velocity of 60 mph using wind power and a strong comet.

    3.- ¿Could you tell me the difference between T-stance and V-stance?

    In t-stance the rolling skates are perpendicular.

    In v-stance you touch the wheels of each rolling skating and form a V.

    4. What´s the biggest danger in a first time skater?

    Block our knees.

    T-braking: With your dominant leg you make a 180 degrees turn
    V-braking: Your heels come closer to each other while your toes separate, forming a V shape with your feet

    All terrain skating, which combines mountain biking and skiing with inline skating.
    Kite Skating, an extreme inline skating activity that can travel at speeds up to 60 mph with a strong wind and kite
    Jam skating is a newer style in the history of quad skates that blends several styles of dance, gymnastics, and skating

    3.- ¿Could you tell me the difference between T-stance and V-stance?
    In T-stance you have to turn 180 degrees trying to form a T, and in V-stance you have to turn your right feet to the right and your left feet to the left while putting your heels closer

    4.- What´s the biggest danger in a first time skater?
    The biggest danger in a first time skater is to lock their knees
